I did this test last summer when it was really hot and it was amazing to see that Sports Drinks helped stop me from feeling thirsty, but water lasted longer for hydration. If I had a choice I would pick water, but the yummy taste of some sports drinks makes it a toss up.

I’ve never been a big fan of the sports drinks so I’ve always turned to water. May have to give this a try though and see if sports drinks keep me hydrated longer then water.

Sports drinks can be a great way to get rid of thirst, but I’ve always felt like it doesn’t last too long. Water seems to be a preferred option for me, especially since it is much cheaper.

I agree with your report that for long, intense workouts it is helpful to have carbs and salts in your drink. My Fruit-Ade recipe shows how any fruit juice can be diluted to the correct sugar concentration to make a great tasting, natural, nutritional sports drink.

Sport drink taste better and can also energize us after heavy sport.
But I think drinking too much of them is unwise

I don’t know for sure, but sport drink contains some ions and minerals to recover our stamina.. so I’ll go for it after having sport

For longer workouts you definately need more than just water. But I am weary of sports drinks and the possible inclusion of preservatives. I have a very high quality high mineral salt. I mix a bit of that with the water – yeah – it doesn’t taste great but it’s really good at replacing lost minerals… When I am not working out – its straight water for me. Water is something we all need a heck of a lot more of than what we drink.

Wonderful report you got there. It would be good to learn a bit additional about that matter. Thank you for discussing that material.
