Milk is it! To curb my appetite I drink one cup of 2% reduced fat milk, fortified with Vitamin A, D, and E. Low-fat milk also provides 8.13g of protein! Studies show that protein in foods help curb appetite. Hey – it works for me!
With my milk at hand, I seldom feel hungry while at work or at play. Milk is not only the big gun in my line of defense against cravings but also right after a workout (besides water). Muscles feed on protein.
More so, low/reduced-fat milk or fat-free milk (skim) provides the calcium needed for strong bones.
For those of you who are lactose intolerant, a nice cool glass of soy milk, fortified with vitamins and minerals is just as good. You get 6.74g protein in one glass (8 oz) of soy milk.
With only 122 calories for 2% reduced fat milk – or 132 calories for soy milk- it’s definitely a bargain and a healthy weight loss tool for that thinner waistline.
I thought I’d share this little known secret with you… perhaps you have one of your own to share?
