in low fat

Banana, chocolate and low fat milk make an energy charged high nutrient packed smoothie. The low fat drink settled deliciously into my stomach and kept me from feeling hungry (or tired) for a couple of hours. So if you like chocolate, banana, and can handle the milk – you should try this easy blender recipe. If you are lactose intolerant, try the recipe with low fat soy milk (soy milk: 8oz = Calories 70, Calories from Fat 20) instead of low fat milk (low fat milk: 8oz = Calories 110, Calories from Fat 20). If your symptoms are slight, then Organic 1% Low Fat Milk is worth a try. In any case, ask your doctor before changing your diet.

Low fat chocolate banana smoothie recipe:

  • 2 cups cold 2% milk
  • 1 1.4 oz. sugar free pudding mix (instant)
  • 2 Tbsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 large ripe frozen bananas, sliced
  • 2 cups crushed ice

In blender: add milk, pudding mix, vanilla- mix together. Add bananas, ice and again blend until smooth. Pour mixture into chilled glasses. Serve immediately.

Prep time: 5 min.
Servings: 4

Wow that smoothie looks good. I cannot eat or drink anything with soy because I am taking hormone blockers to keep the cancer away. But I probably could use fat free skim milk.

MMMM Bananas and chocolate are always a winning combination! :) I will try this substituting the pudding mix with Balance Complete, my favorite vanilla meal replacement shake powder.

My favorite smoothies are 1) chocolate milk, pineapple juice and wheatgrass juice, and 2) sweet potato and honey.

It is really important that you don’t just cut calories when you diet. You want to make sure you get enough vitamins and fiber.

I just tried this shake and loved it. Moving it into my ‘eating routine’ for weight loss. Thanks!

Banana and chocolate can be mixed? I always hear that it was bad, perhaps it is an old superstition.
