fotalia-copyright08-20.jpg Look up dieting tips and you will encounter the warning “losing too much weight too fast can be dangerous to your health”. It sounds copied-and-pasted to me and I’m getting tired of reading this.

Just think about it. How can there be danger in losing unwanted pounds (of fat!) too fast?

Only the method used, such as starving and depriving your body of nutrients, can be detrimental to your health, not the losing part of the message.

I’ve been trying out different diets to learn about them first hand. Doing so, not only helps me sample great dishes and lose body fat, but to write for this blog. Certainly, we are not all alike, and what works for me must not work for you. But it’s likely that you’ll find some good ideas here that will apply to your life too. We all have to deal with a multitude of factors that affect our sense of well-being ever so differently, but the one thing most of us share is the desire for a healthier lifestyle and a great body.

Weight loss diets aren’t all the same either. But what they all boil down to are the calories from food eaten during the day/or night. The kind of foods eaten and how we use up those calories, lifestyle, exercise habits, etc.

Of course it’s sensible before starting any new diet program to make sure to keep in tune with our bodies. Should you have health concerns or problems, of course, check with a medical professional before starting a diet or rigorous exercise program. Then ask questions – questions – questions – write them down before you get there.

Returning to the question “can it be dangerous to lose weight fast?”

No. Not if you listen to your body.

For example, a three day JUICE DIET won’t hurt most people. If you want to lose weight fast in a healthy way, it’s actually a pretty good way to kick start a new diet plan.

Living in the USA, with Supermarkets and Burger Shops around every corner, food flows in abundance. Limiting our food intake can feel like a huge challenge, but once done, it can literally help free the mind and body of clutter. It proves that we can sustain ourselves by consuming less, which can be truly liberating. Following up, for example, on the juice diet. Once you’ve gone through those three days of discipline, your body and mind are prepared for the next step. Whether it’ll be a new diet program or simply making better food choices as well as exercising portion control.

Fruit and vegetable calories aren’t the same as calories from foods like potato chips or fast foods. Sure, 1 calorie still equals 1 calorie, but when it comes to cravings, the modified fats, sugars, and preservatives of the junk food certainly makes those calories different. Because of all of these unnecessary additives and the fact that these foods don’t provide sufficient nutrients to the body, these calories just encourage us to crave even more of them. Whereas fruits and vegetables provide valuable nutrients, making each calorie count, and thus leave the body satisfied and nourished.

So losing weight fast isn’t a bad thing if it’s done conscientiously…
