Finding turmeric recipes that are good for weight loss can be pretty challenging, even with the power of a google search engine. So here’s a quick list of a few easy and low-calorie turmeric recipes that go beyond rice dishes, and into the realms of a healthy weight loss diet, liver detox, soothing herbal remedies, and even vegan cooking.

Tips for Cooking With and for Storing Turmeric:

  • Turmeric can lose its potency from over-exposure to light or heat. Store in airtight tin if possible and keep in a cool, dark place.
  • Turmeric also starts losing it’s potency after 6 months, if stored improperly, less than 6 months.
  • Turmeric is a very strong dye–avoid touching it with your hands, or getting any on your clothes or counter tops–it will stain.
