So you are wondering “how to lose weight fast?” And at the same time images of starving for the sake of calorie-counting and muscle-splitting exercising are crossing your mind. And with the holidays and chocolate desserts approaching, the decision to start losing weight now and living healthily ever after suddenly seems like a really bad idea.
Yet to start losing weight now, really isn’t such a bad idea at all.
My “Lose Weight Fast” Secret?
I eat many times during the day, just smaller portions and I plan ahead. This may take a little getting used to, but come New Years Eve, you’ll be glad for it!
Here a couple suggestions on how to lose weight fast:
- Create your own meal plan for the week using Word or on paper. Find some healthy, easy recipes you would like to try, and think about what kinds of snacks you typically crave during the week (like salty, crunchy, sweet, etc.) and come up with healthy alternatives.
- Be sure to include Salad, Spinach, Chicken, Fish, Eggs, Soy, fat-free Yogurt, and lots of fresh fruit in your diet. Set aside one day during the week on which you’ll try a new fruit or vegetable.
- Spice your food. This not only makes low-calorie foods more interesting (like tofu) but did you know that some spices are also great for natural weight loss? Check out this post about turmeric if you haven’t already. Turmeric is a spice found in curry mix, and is known as the King of Spices in India because of its numerous health benfets. Cinnamon, ginger, and tarragon are also beneficial spices for a healthy weight loss program.
- Prepare for 6 small meals daily
- Cook food a week ahead of time
- Portion and store in freezer and microwave safe containers
- Break your diet Christmas day – cook up a storm!
- Exercise 30 – 59 minutes every second day
- Ask Santa for your own treadmill/ or gym pass

I think weight loss is all about three things – attitude, diet and exercise. From my experience, reducing carb intake and doing aerobic exercises are keys to successful weight loss.
