Lose weight fast: How dangerous is it really?

fotalia-copyright08-20.jpgLook up dieting tips and you will encounter the warning “losing too much weight too fast can be dangerous to your health”. It sounds like copy and pasted in to me and I’m getting tired of reading this.

Just think about it, how can there be danger in losing unwanted pounds too much too fast? Only the method used to do so can be detrimental to your health, not the losing part of the message.

I’ve been trying out different diets to learn about them first hand. Doing so not only helps me to sample great dishes and lose body fat, but to write for this blog. This doesn’t mean that you and me are alike, physically or mentally. We both have to deal with a multitude of factors that effect our sense of well being ever so differently.

Weight loss diets aren’t created equally either. But what they all boil down to are the calories from food eaten during the day/or night, the kind of foods eaten and how we use up these calories, life style, exercising etc.

Of course it’s sensible before starting any diet program to make sure we’re working in tune with our body. Should you have health concerns or problems, which might come up when you’re over weight, get yourself checked first by a medical professional before starting a diet or rigorous exercise program. Then asked questions - questions – questions – write them down before you get there.

Returning to the question “can it be dangerous to lose weight fast, and much of it?”. No. Not if you listen to your body. For example, a three day JUICE DIET won’t hurt most healthy people (please ask your doctor first if in doubt or not) when they want to lose weight fast. It’ s a good start.

Living in the USA, with its Supermarkets and Burger Shops just around the corner, food flows in abundance. To limit our food intake is huge change. And helps free mind and body of clutter. It proves that we can sustain ourselves by consuming less. Following up, for example, on the juice diet, eating healthy foods and executing common sense portion control - or begin a weight loss plan - is much easier to do after a discipline like that.

Fruit and vegetable calories aren’t the same as taking in calories from foods such as potato chips or fast foods. OK, 1 calorie still equals 1 calorie. Yet, of the latter you’ll eat most certainly more of, plus invites for snacking in between.

Now, if you want to lose weight fast, I have a resource you might want to check out: Lose 20 pounds in a monthA program that works with a nutritionist’s diet plan and a trainer’s 59 minute workout routine. This 28 day plan might be just what you’re searching for to help steer you on a life long journey of good habits and ultimate well being… A lose weight fast diet that can be very good for you indeed. Please write about your experience of your diets and exercise regimes on this blog….

Tame Hunger Pangs With Blueberries

Blueberries are rich in antioxidants which help shield the body from cell damage. But did you know that blueberries also suppress your appetite when you eat them before your meal? Yes, blueberries halt the hunger pangs, so studies suggest.

I’ve been eating blueberries all summer long. When in season, I eat them fresh right out of my hand. Easy, because I live where the blueberries grow and where I can pick them. When they are out of season, I purchase Dole Wild Blueberries frozen in a 3 LBS bag. Actually any kind of fruit makes plain low fat yogurt taste great… Add a TBS Flax seeds for fiber and Omega-3s-6s and have yourself a low fat, low cal snack. One way to tame hunger pangs until your next meal…

Blog Action Day: Poverty Brings To Mind…

250x250.jpg
In the spirit of blog action day, Oct. 15, I’ve decided to veer a little off of our usual discussions on http://dietivity.com, and participate as bloggers around the world share thoughts on the subject of poverty.

Perhaps as little as a few months ago, the word “poverty” would have immediately brought to my mind the images on TV of emaciated children suffering in third world countries, single mothers in inner cities struggling to raise their families in run-down, crime infested neighborhoods, or migrant workers living under the radar, working for less than minimum wage just to send it home to their families to whom those few dollars make all the difference. Yet, now with this economic crisis gripping the US, the spectra of poverty is showing how close to home it’s always been lurking.
