Yoga Breathing After Warm Rain
I am standing in the open door of my home. The rain is over. Taking deep yoga breaths while visualizing the wriggly surface of my own brain (yoga guru recommended), eyes shut. Frogs are in concert and it isn’t dark enough yet for the birds to stop chirping or for the chipmunks to stop clucking.
The air smells fresh and fragrant, like it always does after a warm rain. And I keep practicing my breathing in Yoga, lifting the head slowly while inhaling, fully expanding the chest and then exhaling, letting my head drop down a bit. All the while, I’m trying to distinguish between different sounds (Science claims that our brain can only separate up to 7 sounds at once).
The door was wide open during the rain and is still open, now that it has stopped. Ducks fly in loudly to land on the little lake… I am happy - Buttercup is sleeping on top of the couch.
How do you like to practice your yoga breathing? We love your ideas…

Yoga Exercises: poses and stretches
Yoga Notes:
Yoga exercises include poses that are do-able even if your skeleton doesn’t quite (yet) feel like a rubber band. Anyways, try some of the following yoga exercises. When you do these poses, you’ll notice how relaxing the stretches can be. If you don’t right away see the benefits just stick with easier poses and try again. Pretty soon you’ll wonder how flexible your body truly is. Because - you are born with it!
One of my favorite yoga exercises is the shoulder bridge - and makes a great start for beginners - (image to your right)
Note: Practice your breathing exercise whenever you remember.

While Exercising: don’t forget the breathing!
There are two main types of exercise that you can do - aerobic and anaerobic. The first one, aerobic, means with oxygen. Aerobic type exercise has an important distinction, it burns fat as the main fuel.
Anaerobic on the other hand, burns sugar as the main source of fuel. Despite common myths, exercise doesn’t have to be drastic in any way to provide massive benefits. Even if you choose light exercise, you will still burn fat.
Light exercise will clear out lactic acid, which is a waste of the body, and stimulate your cells to regenerate. To be sure that you are burning fat rather than sugar, it’s very important to make sure that you are doing several things as you exercise.
The most important thing you can do as you exercise is breathe deep. You should always breathe in deep into your stomach through your nose, hold it for a few seconds and then exhale hard through your mouth.
